Why is there plastic inside the pencil?

I love this pencil, but why is there plastic surrounding the pigment? (Like Between the pigment and the wood.) Every time I sharpen it, it messes up the product and I end up losing some. Or scratching my eyebrow from plastic that was cut by my pencil sharpener. Looking for a new product bc this is bizarre.

Very nice. I am a redhead and my go-to is usually the Sephora Collection retractable pencil in Auburn, but I went with the Dark Blonde here and was surprised by how nice it looks. Very blendable, and the brush thingy is helpful. Ultimately, it's a little pricey for me, and not so much better than my go-to that I'm willing to upgrade permanently, but if money wasn't an issue I'd stick with this for sure.

Fantastic and I've tried em all....great color selection for this cool toned strawberry blond. I'm a make up junkie, so I've tried every brand. These pencils are the best. Don't hesitate.

BEST EYEBROW FOR NATURAL BROWS

I had my eyebrows professionally microbladed semi perm color by the VERY BEST in South Florida (IMHO). That microblading changed my life in so many great ways and so MAMY compliments. After a number of months I wanted to just add some color to the edges of my brows. (I use glycolics trying to keep away from brows but the chemicals can cause some fading). Rather than a touch up I just use what I've found, before and after microblading ti be the absolute BEST eyebrow pencil if you want to look perfectly natural. I do NOT like eyebrwos that are pointy or very thick in a rectangle shape - OMG awful. This Lancome is literally a pressed powder pencil. I certainly don't know how it's done but the result is amazingly natural. It's not powdery like an eyeshadow but it just works like a drwam and so easy. I love the little black Nars sharpener. It's important to have a good sharpener or you'll lose the product. Two twists and done. You don't need a sharp point though that's fine. I rarely write a revie so when I do I mean every word. I use Dark Blonde 2. Taupe is good as well. For blondes and light browns.

I really like this pencil. I find some traditional eyebrow pencils to be very hard to apply because the pencil itself isnt soft. Not this one. The application is easy, while not being too soft ( ei: too much product) so it give the perfect amount to easily work on your brows. The spooly at the end helps shape your brows as you apply.
